The Untold Story of Saudi's Music Scene

“CUE: The Untold Story of Saudi's Music Scene” is the title of the documentary released online by MDLBEAST, one of the Middle East’s leading entertainment companies. Running 58 minutes and 54 seconds, the documentary explores the evolution of Saudi Arabia’s modern music scene following the cultural opening launched in 2019. The film shows how the Saudi music landscape evolved from a fragmented underground movement into an increasingly structured and international industry.

The documentary looks back at the years when music in Saudi Arabia largely existed in the shadows, supported more by the passion of artists than by real cultural infrastructure. With the social changes of recent years, a new creative movement emerged, and MDLBEAST played a central role in connecting artists, professionals, and audiences, contributing to the growth of the entire music and live entertainment ecosystem across the Middle East. Much of this growth is tied to Soundstorm, the festival organized by MDLBEAST that has become one of the world’s most important music festivals, capable of showcasing both local and international talent.
