Thirty years ago, in 1995, Jeff Mills recorded “Live at Liquid Room” in Tokyo, one of the most iconic sets in the history of electronic music.
Now, in 2025, this masterpiece turns thirty, and its creator is celebrating the anniversary with a world tour and a new reissue on CD and cassette, available from Friday, November 28, 2025.The tour will run from November 2025 to March 2026, with stops in London, Osaka, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Glasgow, Dublin, Brussels, and New York.

“Live at Liquid Room” is much more than a DJ set: it is a statement of intent, a turning point in the perception of techno as a universal language. Recorded during a period of global expansion for the electronic scene, the mix blends rigor and improvisation, rhythmic power and mechanical precision. Each transition becomes a micro-narrative — an act of real-time sonic construction.
Its significance within the musical landscape is profound. With this set, Jeff Mills helped redefine the role of the DJ, transforming it from a simple track selector into a true architect of sound. His futuristic vision — shaped by art, science, and cosmic imagery — helped establish a new techno aesthetic: cerebral yet physical, minimalist yet emotional.
Thirty years later, “Live at Liquid Room” still retains all its strength and relevance. In the 2025 reissue, Mills presents the original remastered recording, accompanied by a booklet featuring personal notes and previously unseen photographs from that era.
It is both a tribute to an unrepeatable moment and an invitation to rediscover the purity and primal energy of the techno sound.
